After one full week in Paris (side note: howww has it been that long already?), I'm becoming accustomed to some of the cultural differences and loving every one of them.
Par exemple:
You will most likely
not just stumble into a building like
this in the U.S...
Behold, a small portion of the gallery ceiling in the Opéra house. This also happens to be the ceiling above which Stella McCartney's Paris fashion week shows take place! Good choice, Stel. And just to the left of this room?
Paris, je t'aime.
The inside of the Opera! When Charles Garnier first constructed this amazing building, the fashion of the time included corsets, which constricted women's waists so intensely that men were supposed to be able to wrap their
hands - NOT their arms - completely around a woman's waist.... ouch.
Another interesting tidbit- the myth of a phantom living in the opera started here! Hence the Broadway play
The Phantom of the Opera... if that wasn't immediately clear.
Definitely another important journal picture- a candy stand near Frassy's flat! Look away now if you're already mad that French women are so skinny.
More journal entries to come! Paris has photo-ops galore.
