Notre Dame

Notre Damn hehe:

Photobucket

Where Napoleon was crowned and tourists gather.

Now these are what I call church-going shoes:

Super pretty candle arrangements on the inside:

And the famous rose window- need to use this for style inspiration somehow. I'm sure Frassy could help with that.

Photo Diary

Dear Photo Diary,

L'autre jour, I ate the most amazing dinner at a restaurant called XXV on the Champs-Elysees.

Then took the short walk to Lauduree to buy desert and champagne.

On my way home I saw two mice on the subway!

All in all a great day. Paris, je t'aime.

Arzu Kaprol

Salut! Today was one of my favorite days in Paris so far- FRASSY gave me an extra ticket to one of the Paris fashion week shows! The designer was Arzu Kaprol and all of her looks were amazing!
Here are some of my favorites:
(pardon my photography skills- I'm challenged in that department)

Loved the unusual textures, and how well the fabric flows with the last gown.

And this is what I wore:

This is what I actually wore...

Shirt: Vintage from Paris (jealous? then shop Frassy Rags, foo) // Pants: Free People (they're vegan leather- what does that even mean?) // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Floor boards c/o Frassy ... sorry I just want to be one of those bloggers that gets to use the "c/o"

Et Finalement, here was one of the most fun outfits that I saw outside the show

Paris Journal

Now all I need is an outfit to match my macaroons. Love the green.

The French are masters of indulgence. In the true story of Eat, Pray, Love (yes, I know that's not about Paris), several Italians in a barber shop explain that Americans don't know how to enjoy themselves- don't be those Americans! Buy the croissants!

Photobucket

Cute outfit spotted on the metro. I spy a sock bun.

Shopping with a friend on the Champs-Elysées... wait, is this real life?

Photobucket

 Des détails.
There was some sort of dance party going on outside of Sephora today. My only question is where were the fashion police when this woman walked out of the store? I think her coat is 400 times too large. Those poor buttons!

Loving life right now!

Paris Journal

After one full week in Paris (side note: howww has it been that long already?), I'm becoming accustomed to some of the cultural differences and loving every one of them. Par exemple:

You will most likely not just stumble into a building like this in the U.S...

Photobucket

Behold, a small portion of the gallery ceiling in the Opéra house. This also happens to be the ceiling above which Stella McCartney's Paris fashion week shows take place! Good choice, Stel. And just to the left of this room?
Paris, je t'aime.
The inside of the Opera! When Charles Garnier first constructed this amazing building, the fashion of the time included corsets, which constricted women's waists so intensely that men were supposed to be able to wrap their hands - NOT their arms - completely around a woman's waist.... ouch.
Another interesting tidbit- the myth of a phantom living in the opera started here! Hence the Broadway play The Phantom of the Opera... if that wasn't immediately clear.

Definitely another important journal picture- a candy stand near Frassy's flat! Look away now if you're already mad that French women are so skinny.

Photobucket

More journal entries to come! Paris has photo-ops galore.
Finalement, the anticipation is over! Frassy Rags just received a brand new shipment of amazing clothes and accessories!! Here are some of my must-haves. {Hint: they should be your must-haves as well}

The bigger the better and the more the merrier. n'est-ce pas?

"On with the dance, let the joy be unconfined" ~Mark Twain (I'm an English major, remember?)
And you haven't heard the best part! From Frassy Rags, you can shop directly from Frassy's closet. De plus, she's already shown at least one way to style them on her blog, so there's plenty of inspiration that comes with the purchase. Inspiration- and the picture on the left? Thinspiration. Happy shopping!

mercredi 14 septembre 2011

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Bloom and I currently have the amazing opportunity of interning for Audrey of Frassy while I'm studying abroad in Paris this semester (or maybe the year- I can't decide!) Just wanted to quickly introduce myself by giving you a few ideas of what my style is like...

This is actually a mash up of a blog that I attempted to start over the Summer called Heels or Meals and I'm looking forward to picking it back up again after I really get settled into my classes and Paris... and of course after I learn a thing or two from Frassy!!
